Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement (AST)
An Assured Shorthold Tenancy is the most common type of rental contract in the UK when the landlord does not live at the property. If no other tenancy type is specified, this is usually the default agreement. An AST allows either the landlord or the tenant to end the tenancy after the initial six-month period by giving the required notice.
If you’re letting a house or flat, this legally binding contract covers everything you need to formalise the arrangement. It creates the standard form of tenancy known as an Assured Shorthold Tenancy.
The BritishRooms AST Agreement is suitable for landlords in England and Wales and is available as a downloadable PDF for just £5.00. We also offer room-only AST agreements.
