1. About these Terms

1.1 These Registration Terms (the “Terms”) apply when you register an Account (as defined below) with BritishRooms and use our website, mobile site or app (collectively, the “Platform”).
1.2 By registering, creating an Account or accessing the Platform, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1.3 We may amend these Terms at any time. Your use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Who can register

2.1 You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your country) to register.
2.2 You must have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements.
2.3 If you register on behalf of a business, you confirm that you have authority to bind that business.

3. Your Account & Registration

3.1 Account. When you register, you create an “Account” and become a “User”.
3.2 Information. You agree to provide true, accurate and complete registration information (including email address, password, etc.). You will keep your information updated.
3.3 Email & Password. You must use a valid email, choose a secure password. You are responsible for all activity under your Account. If you suspect unauthorised use, notify us immediately.
3.4 Verification. We may request further information or perform verification checks. We may refuse or suspend registration if we consider you pose a risk.

4. Use of the Platform

4.1 Purpose. The Platform enables Users to search for rooms, find roommates, advertise rooms, or connect with other Users.
4.2 Advertisement. To create or view certain listings you must hold a valid Account and comply with our Advertisement Terms (if applicable).
4.3 Free & Paid Features. Some features may be offered free; others may be subject to fees, subscription or upgrade charges.
4.4 Prohibited Conduct. You must not:

impersonate or attempt to locate others’ login credentials;
create multiple Accounts to manipulate the Platform;
use the Platform for unlawful, misleading or fraudulent purposes;
infringe any rights of other Users or third parties.

5. User Obligations

5.1 You will use the Platform in accordance with applicable law and these Terms.
5.2 You must not post false or misleading information.
5.3 You must ensure your profile and listings are accurate, up-to-date and reflect your genuine intentions.
5.4 You are responsible for any consequences of your actions via your Account.

6. Suspension & Termination

6.1 We may suspend or terminate your Account in our sole discretion, for example if you breach these Terms.
6.2 On termination, accrued rights and liabilities remain in effect.
6.3 If you have prepaid fees, they may not be refunded if termination is due to your breach.

7. Content & Intellectual Property

7.1 Content you post remains yours, but you grant BritishRooms a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, adapt, modify and display it in connection with the Platform.
7.2 We own or are licensed to use all other content on the Platform—graphics, layouts, logos, trademarks, etc.—and you may not copy, reproduce, transmit or create derivative works without our permission.

8. Privacy & Data Protection

8.1 We collect and use your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy.
8.2 By registering, you accept our use of your data as set out in the Privacy Policy.
8.3 You consent to our storing, processing and transferring your information, including internationally if needed.

9. Fees & Payment

9.1 If you purchase any paid service (e.g., “premium listings”, “boosts”, “membership”), you agree to pay the fees shown at the time of purchase.
9.2 All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.
9.3 We may change the pricing at our discretion, but will honour the price you paid at purchase.

10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

10.1 The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”. We make no warranty that the Platform is error-free or uninterrupted.
10.2 To the fullest extent permitted by law, BritishRooms is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss.
10.3 Our total aggregate liability in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise will not exceed £100 (or equivalent) or the amount you paid in the preceding 12 months, whichever is higher.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BritishRooms and its directors, officers, employees and agents from any claims, losses or liabilities arising from your use of the Platform, violation of these Terms or infringement of third-party rights.

12. Termination of Service

We may withdraw access to the Platform (temporarily or permanently) at any time without liability by giving you notice. On termination, you must cease using your Account.

13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. You agree that disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales (unless you are resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in which case you may bring claims in your home jurisdiction).

14. Miscellaneous

14.1 Waiver: If we don’t enforce a right at one time, that doesn’t waive our right to enforce it later.
14.2 Severability: If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, that part will be deleted and the remaining Terms will continue in effect.
14.3 Assignment: You may not transfer or assign your rights or obligations without our prior written consent.
14.4 Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us relating to your registration and use of the Platform.
